By Layla Monaee Hart
I started on IMVU back on July 20, 2011, after leaving Yoville (now known as YoWorld). Over the years, I’ve met
so many amazing people on this journey — some moved on to Second Life, some to new real-life adventures, and
others simply logged off to live life beyond the screen.
During my time here, I’ve played many roles — even a wife to a few special people
(no names mentioned, of course 😉). But one of the most meaningful connections I made was with Dr. Jay Hart,
whom I met in 2014. We became great friends, and he’s been my IMVU husband since March 24, 2024 — as well as
a dear friend in real life. Funny enough, he was also my IMVU hubby back in 2015! Life took us in different
directions for a while, but we’ve remained close, proving that friendship and connection can thrive in any world —
virtual or real.
After losing my real-life husband of 33 years, I found my way back to IMVU in 2021. It became more than just a
game — it was a space of comfort, creativity, and connection. It reminded me that even in virtual worlds, real
hearts still beat behind every avatar.
My sister here, MzShiNovi (formerly MzSlimZexy), has also been part of this wild and wonderful journey.
Together, we dreamed up something new — The HartsVu Magazine — a place where stories come alive again,
where the community returns to what IMVU once was: fun, friendship, and celebration.
With this magazine, I want to honor the ones we’ve lost, spotlight the DJs, creators, and trendsetters, and celebrate
the long-lasting couples — both virtual and real-life. I want to rekindle the spark that made IMVU special, while
keeping it safe, positive, and inspiring for everyone.
